Justin Beck gets off the couch and into the winner's circle!
Justin Beck might have wanted to be somewhere else but found himself in the winner circle after posting a fine round of 59 to capture the boys champinship division at the North County Jr. Golf Associations Spring Championship. Justin of Carlsbad won the title over Vista's Curtis Bee (62), in third was Escondido's Ryan Janecek (64), fourth and fifth went to Carlsbad's Cole Young (68) and Chris Knapp (71). In Justin's victory speech he thanked his mom and dad for getting him off the couch and onto the course! Congratulations!
Justin Michal captures boys 11-12, NCJGA Championship!
Out early Justin Michal fired a round of 64 to win the boys 11-12 division. Newcomer Casey Rebman (69) of San Marcos went home with the runner up trophy, finishing third Encinitas's Jonathon Cassidy (70), in fourth Oceanside's Eric Delerosa (71) and Alex Marr (77). Shot of the day belonged to Alex Marr who shot on #8 stopped just on the edge of the cup for a almost hole in one!
Ian Scheble 70 nips Jonathon Mulvany in boys 8-10!
Carlsbad's Ian Scheble (70) held off a fast chargin Jonathon Mulvany (72) to capture the boys 8-10 division. Ian's 34 on the back nine was enought to counter Jonathon's 32. Also in the mix was Solana Beach's Noah Henderson (73) finishing third. A three way tie for fouth between Poway's Spencer Vierra, Escondido's Kyle Maspat, and San Diego's Ryan Huynh. A total of 16 players competed in this division, great job!
Girls 18 - Tracey Huynh edges McKenna Meyer by a shot!
The girls 18 came down the last hole - Tracey Huynh's (63) par on 18 gave her the victory over McKenna Meyer (64). Told you every stroke counts!! Finishing third was Carlsbad Amanda Kahn (69), in fourth 9 year old Karina Camp (76) of Solana Beach, and in fifth earning a medal was Poway's Maddelyn Zack (78).
Karah's going Pro - just kidding! But she wins again!
Karah Sanford (37) of Escondido cruised to a 4 shot victory over Oceanside's Jonathon Crowe (41) and San Clemente's Alexander Pak (41) - Jonathon earned the runner up trophy in a playoff making a par 3! Finishing fourth was Kathy Henderson and in fifth was Elle Otten. Thank you to all the caddies!!
