Boys Championship (Gold Division)
Jake Mancini stands up to the heat!
Carlsbad Jake Mancini was not sure if he could stand up to the heat but his final score of 69 was good enough for a two stroke victory over Carlsbad's Justin Beck (71). Jake stated he could only focus on his game and not control the heat so he just played golf, third place medal went to Fallbrook's Garet Johnson (72) rounding out the top 5 in fourth Temecula's Chris Knapp (73) and fifth Oceanside's Haden Bauer (78).
Boys 18 (Silver Division)
It is all about Sahith - he goes low with a 58!
Sahith Theegala (58) showed the golf course who is boss, his 4 under par set a North County Jr. Golf scoring record for the Fountains golf course, he scorched the back nine with a 27, runnerup with a fine round of 63 was Escondido's Dylan Martinez, third was Vista's Curtis Bee (66) in fourth Temecula's Blake Petchel (68) and fifth Escondido's Mitchell Cannon (70). Great, friendly, competition in that age division nice to see the boys playing some golf!
Boys 18 (Bronze Division)
Fallbrook's Derek Deming didn't want to give the victory speech but his score of 68 held up to claim his second NCJGA title! Erik Delarosa (70) of Oceanside finished second despite having the best back nine score. Third place medal went to Noah Henderson (74) of Solana Beach, fourth Valley Center's Danny Miller (76) and tied fifth was Poway's Spencer Vierra and Escondido's Collin Sullivan (79).
Haley Moore shoot a 61 and sets scoring record for girls NCJGA!
The heat did not bother Haley of Escondido her 1 under par score of 61 set the girls scoring record for the NCJGA at the Fountains course, great playing!! Temecula's Haley Knapp (77) finished runner up and in third was Escondido's Mara Golder (96)
Girls Championship is close but Tracey prevails!
Tracey Huynh of Rancho Penasquitos (71) had just enough to nip Caylie Allen (72) of Poway their scores were almost identical the whole day, in third was Oceanside's Alyssa Waite (79).
The North County Jr. Golf Association is a 501 (c) (3) non profit corporation - donations are tax deductable.
The NCJGA introduces the game of golf to boys and girls by offering competitive, affordable, and fun golf events for children of all ages and skill levels.
Events are held year round.
